Champlin sits across the Mississippi from Coon Rapids and Anoka, a quick trip over the bridge from our office. Much of the city was built from the 1970s through the 1990s, with newer homes toward the Elm Creek Park Reserve side.
A lot of those homes have finished basements and the original furnace closet, which matters when it’s time to replace: getting a new furnace in, venting it correctly and keeping the finished space intact is part of the job.

Champlin questions
Asked by Champlin homeowners.
More answers on the HVAC questions page.
Smell gas? Leave the house, don’t flip switches, and call your gas utility or 911 from outside. CO alarm? Get everyone out and call 911. No heat in freezing weather? Call us, and never use the oven or a grill indoors for heat.
The bedroom over my garage in Champlin is always cold. What causes that?
Rooms over garages lose heat through the floor and are often at the end of a long duct run. Sealing and insulating that duct, checking the register sizing, and balancing airflow usually help. We’ll find out where the air is going first.
Can you replace a furnace in a finished basement without tearing it apart?
In most cases, yes. We plan the route in and out, protect the finished space, and size the new furnace and venting to fit the existing mechanical room.
Do you come across the river to Champlin?
Yes. Champlin is on our regular service list, just over the Mississippi from our Coon Rapids office.
